Originally cultivated in Scotland, the tayberry is a cross between the American blackberry and Scottish red raspberry, and is named after the River Tay in Scotland. The fruit made its way to Oregon in the seventies. We turned this wonderful combination of flavors into our deliciously sweet (but not too sweet) Kelly’s Oregon Tayberry Preserves that will perfectly compliment every dish, from appetizers to desserts to this delicious "Tayberry Spritz" from Nicole Jaques (@itsnicolejaques). Whether enjoyed as a mocktail or cocktail, we think this is the perfect refresher on a sunny day!
INGREDIENTS
- 1 T fresh lemon juice
- 1 T simple syrup
- 1 cocktail spoon of Kelly’s Oregon Tayberry Preserves
- Ice
- 6 T lemon lime soda
- Thyme or lemon verbena to garnish
VARIATIONS
Feeling bubbly? Sub soda for champagne or prosecco.
Boozy? Add a shot of vodka, gin or tequila on the rocks for a summer cocktail.
Need a signature drink? Substitute the lemon lime soda for 2 oz. of honey whiskey for a Tayberry Whiskey Sour.
